Moore County offers property tax abatements for qualifying new or expanding businesses. Abatements reduce or eliminate property taxes on new improvements for a set period, significantly lowering the cost of building or expanding a facility in Dumas.
Enterprise Zone Program
Dumas is designated as a Texas Enterprise Zone, making qualifying businesses eligible for state sales and use tax refunds on machinery, equipment, electricity, and natural gas used in production — significant savings for industrial and manufacturing operations.
New Market Tax Credit
Dumas falls within a New Market Tax Credit tract, providing investors in qualifying low-income community businesses with a federal tax credit equal to 39% of the investment amount over seven years.
Texas has no personal income tax. The corporate franchise tax rate is as low as 0.331% for qualifying entities. Combined with competitive property tax rates and enterprise zone sales tax refunds, Dumas offers a genuinely low-cost operating environment.
